How to check the oil performance of WPDO135-30-4KW worm gear reducer

Check the oil performance of WPDO135-30-4KW worm gear reducer, as follows:
1. Oil appearance inspection

Color and Transparency:

Normal state: The new oil should be light yellow to amber (mineral oil) or light colored (synthetic oil), transparent without turbidity.

Abnormal state: If the oil turns black, milky white (emulsified) or delaminates, it indicates oxidation, water ingress or contamination, and needs to be replaced immediately.

Impurity detection:

Take an oil sample and drop it onto filter paper to observe whether there are metal particles (such as copper or iron filings) or gel precipitates, indicating gear or bearing wear.

2. Oil viscosity and flowability testing

Dip a glass rod into the oil and observe the drawing state when dripping:

Normal: The viscosity is uniform and meets the requirements of the instruction manual (such as ISO VG 220).

Abnormal: becoming thinner (high-temperature oxidation) or thicker (mixed with water), oil needs to be replaced.

3. Oil level and quantity inspection

Static inspection:

After 30 minutes of shutdown, confirm that the oil level is between the MIN/MAX scale (preferably at 2/3) through the oil level window or dipstick.

When installing vertically, it is necessary to ensure that the oil covers the lowest gear meshing area to avoid excessive oil immersion in the bearings.

Dynamic inspection:

Observe whether the oil level is stable during operation. Too much foam on the oil surface may be caused by oil deterioration or air mixing.

4. Temperature and vibration monitoring

Temperature:

The oil temperature should be ≤ 80 ℃ (synthetic oil can withstand 100 ℃), and the shell temperature should be 10-15 ℃ lower than the oil temperature.

If the temperature suddenly rises by more than 10 ℃, the lubrication system or oil quality needs to be checked.

Vibration:

Measured with a vibration detector, vibration intensity exceeding ISO 10816 standard (e.g. 8.5m/s ²) may be caused by poor lubrication.

5. Oil physical and chemical index testing

Quick on-site inspection:

Observe the diffusion ring using an oil sample test strip, and a black precipitate ring indicates excessive impurities.

Professional testing:

Spectral analyzer detects metal elements (such as iron>100ppm indicating severe wear).

6. Maintenance suggestions

Check the oil quality every 500 hours and replace the lubricating oil every 2000 hours.

Thoroughly clean the oil chamber during replacement to avoid mixing of new and old oil.
