What should I do if the connection between the output shaft and the load coupling of the BWY18-11-3KW cycloidal reducer with a pin type output structure is loose

When the connection between the output shaft of the BWY18-11-3kW cycloidal reducer with a pin type output structure and the load coupling becomes loose, it is necessary to immediately stop the machine for troubleshooting and re tighten it according to specifications to avoid vibration, eccentricity, or damage to the shaft system.

If this type of loose connection is not dealt with in a timely manner, it may cause serious faults such as output shaft jumping, bearing overload, and even shaft breakage. The following are the systematic processing steps:

1. Immediately stop the machine and cut off the power

To prevent further damage, the equipment should be immediately stopped and the power should be cut off to ensure safe operation.

2. Disassemble and inspect the status of the connecting components

Remove the coupling and inspect the following items one by one:

Whether the pin shaft and pin hole are worn or deformed: observe whether there are scratches, bends, or reduced diameter on the surface of the pin shaft (the normal gap should not exceed 0.05mm);

Whether the coupling cone sleeve or clamping ring has failed: The pin shaft structure often uses the cone sleeve locking method to check whether the cone surface is corroded, pressed, or plastic deformed;

The fit between keyway and key pin: If it is a key connection, check whether the key is loose, sheared or deformed, or if the gap on both sides is too large;

Is the thread at the end of the output shaft damaged? If the thread used to tighten the nut slips, it will not provide sufficient locking force.

3. Reinstall and tighten (key steps)

Clean all mating surfaces, remove oil stains and rust;

Insert the coupling correctly into the output shaft to ensure accurate positioning;

Use a torque wrench to evenly tighten the tightening nut or locking bolt step by step according to the manufacturer's recommended value (generally 45~60N · m, refer to the BWY18 manual for details);

After tightening, use a hand crank to confirm smooth rotation without any jamming.

4. Pre operation calibration and monitoring

Use a dial gauge to detect the end face and radial runout of the coupling. The runout should be ≤ 0.05mm, otherwise it may cause vibration;

Run the test without load for 5-10 minutes, monitor for any abnormal noise, and touch the shaft end to determine if the temperature rise is abnormal;

Strengthen inspections within 2 hours after loaded operation to confirm that there are no signs of further loosening.

5. Preventive maintenance recommendations

Check the connection fastening status every 500 hours or 3 months of operation;

In high vibration and frequent start stop conditions, it is recommended to install anti loosening washers or thread glue;

Optional torque monitoring device or vibration sensor for early warning.
