How to solve the influence of environmental temperature on the adaptation of motors and ZSY315-90-1 gear reducers

The key to addressing the impact of environmental temperature on the compatibility of motors with ZSY315-90-1 gear reducers lies in controlling oil temperature, optimizing lubrication, matching power, and strengthening heat dissipation/preheating. According to the different working environment temperatures, targeted measures need to be taken to ensure the long-term reliable operation of the system.

1、 High temperature environment (>40 ℃, especially>45 ℃)

High temperature will significantly reduce the performance and lifespan of motors and reducers

The Influence of High Temperature Environment on ZSY315 Reducer

The viscosity of lubricating oil decreases, the oil film becomes thinner or even breaks, causing dry friction between gears and bearings, leading to pitting corrosion and bonding;

The thermal expansion of metal components may cause a decrease in meshing clearance, which may result in jamming or tooth breakage;

The sealing components have aged and hardened, resulting in oil leakage or dust ingress.

Measures to cope with high temperature environment:

Choose high-temperature lubricating oil (such as synthetic extreme pressure gear oil, with a temperature resistance of over 100 ℃);

Strengthen heat dissipation: use circulating oil lubrication or install fans and cooling coils;

When selecting a motor, consider reducing the capacity factor or choose an F-class insulated, high-temperature resistant motor;

Regularly monitor the oil temperature, recommend a working oil temperature of 40-60 ℃, with a maximum not exceeding 80 ℃.

2、 Low temperature environment (<0 ℃, especially<-10 ℃)

Difficulty starting at low temperatures is a common problem, mainly due to the solidification of lubricating oil and material brittleness:

1. The impact on the motor:

High starting resistance, surge in starting current, and easy triggering of overload protection;

The temperature difference after shutdown causes condensation on the winding, resulting in a decrease in insulation performance and a risk of short circuit;

Material shrinkage, abnormal clearance, and increased vibration noise.

2. The impact on ZSY315-90-1 reducer:

The viscosity of lubricating oil increases dramatically or even solidifies, causing gears and bearings to dry and wear out due to lack of oil;

The toughness of the material decreases, the impact resistance is weak, and it is prone to tooth breakage or cracking;

The significant increase in starting torque demand may lead to motor stalling.

3. Response measures:

It is prohibited to start directly with a load, and preheating should be carried out with no load first;

Use low pour point lubricating oil (pour point ≤ -25 ℃), such as composite low-temperature gear oil ISO VG 32/46;

Preheat the lubricating oil to above 0 ℃ before starting, using methods such as electric heat tracing and infrared heaters;

Replace the low-temperature starting capacitor (applicable to single-phase motors);

Check the condition of the seals to prevent water vapor from entering and freezing.

3、 Severe temperature fluctuation environment (day night temperature difference>20 ℃)

Frequent thermal expansion and contraction can lead to cumulative damage:

Metal components generate alternating stress, which may cause cracking of the shell and loosening of bolts in the long run;

Internal condensation leads to rust and insulation moisture.

Special situation response measures:

Choose wide temperature lubricating grease with good antioxidant and anti rust properties;

Add a breathing valve or dryer to reduce the entry of moisture;

Regularly tighten the connectors and check for coaxiality drift.
