What is the impact of ambient temperature on the compatibility of motors and ZSY280-35.5 gear reducers

The ambient temperature directly affects the power matching, lubrication status, thermal balance, operating accuracy, and service life of the motor and ZSY280-35.5 gear reducer. Abnormal temperature can lead to imbalanced machine adaptation, increased malfunctions, and shortened service life.

1、 High temperature environment (>40 ℃, exceeding 45 ℃ is a harsh working condition)

1. Impact on motors: As the ambient temperature rises, the heat dissipation of the motor deteriorates, the aging of the winding insulation accelerates, and the lifespan decreases significantly every time the temperature exceeds 10 ℃; Motor losses increase and efficiency decreases, requiring reduced capacity for use, otherwise it is prone to overheating, tripping, and burning out; The thinning and loss of bearing grease can cause abnormal noise and jamming.

2. The impact on ZSY280-35.5 reducer: the viscosity of lubricating oil decreases, the oil film is prone to rupture, and dry friction, pitting corrosion, and bonding are prone to occur on the tooth surface and bearings; The thermal expansion of gears and bearings leads to a decrease in meshing clearance, increased vibration and noise, and even jamming and tooth breakage; The accelerated aging and hardening of the sealing components lead to oil leakage, dust and water ingress.

3. System adaptation impact: motor output torque decreases, gearbox friction loss increases, and the overall output capacity of the machine is insufficient; The coaxiality of the motor and reducer is damaged due to thermal deformation, resulting in increased vibration and easy damage to the coupling, shaft, and key.

2、 Low temperature environment (< 0 ℃, below -10 ℃ is a harsh working condition)

Effects on motors: Lubricating oil (grease) is viscous, increasing starting resistance, surging starting current, and prone to overload; The temperature difference after shutdown can easily lead to winding condensation, insulation degradation, and the risk of leakage and short circuit; Material cold shrinkage may cause abnormal fit clearance and increase vibration noise.

Impact on ZSY280-35.5 reducer: The flowability of lubricating oil deteriorates, and gears and bearings are prone to oil shortage and dry wear during startup, resulting in a sharp increase in wear; The toughness and impact resistance of gear and bearing materials decrease, and they are prone to tooth breakage and cracking under impact loads; A significant increase in starting torque can easily cause motor overload and transmission component breakage.

System adaptation impact: The starting torque of the motor does not match the low-temperature resistance of the gearbox, which may result in failure to start or stalling; Frequent cold and hot cycles lead to seal failure, bolt loosening, and coaxiality drift.

3、 Normal temperature environment (0 ℃~40 ℃)

This is the optimal compatibility range between the motor and ZSY280-35.5 reducer. The motor can be matched according to the rated power, and the reducer can use standard industrial gear oil. Natural cooling meets heat dissipation, and the oil temperature, vibration, and noise are stable. The equipment can operate reliably for a long time.

4、 Temperature adaptation core control requirements

1. The recommended working oil temperature for the reducer is 40 ℃ to 60 ℃, with a maximum of 80 ℃, and the temperature rise should not exceed the ambient temperature plus 40 ℃.

2. High temperature environment requires motor capacity reduction, selection of high-temperature lubricating oil, and strengthening heat dissipation; Lubricating oil should be preheated and low pour point oil should be selected in low-temperature environments. It is prohibited to start directly under load.

3. When the temperature is abnormal, priority should be given to adjusting lubrication, heat dissipation, and preheating measures, and then verifying the motor power and gearbox bearing capacity to ensure reliable adaptation of the entire machine.
