What are the performance characteristics of NGW-QJ82-25 planetary reducer when its base is made of other materials instead of HT250?

If the NGW-QJ82-25 planetary gearbox base is replaced with materials such as ductile iron, cast steel, aluminum alloy, etc., the performance characteristics will change significantly according to the material properties, and the suitable working conditions will also be adjusted accordingly. The following is a comparison of the performance characteristics and adaptation scenarios of different alternative materials:

1、 Replace with QT450-10 (ductile iron)

QT450-10 is a cast iron material with comprehensive performance close to cast steel, and graphite is spherical, which greatly improves toughness and tensile strength compared to HT250.

Core performance characteristics

Better mechanical performance: tensile strength ≥ 450MPa, elongation ≥ 10%, impact resistance 3-5 times higher than HT250, able to withstand frequent start stop and material impact loads, avoiding machine base cracking;

Balancing rigidity and shock absorption: The elastic modulus is slightly higher than HT250, the deformation of the machine base is smaller, and the damping and shock absorption characteristics of cast iron are retained. The operating noise is only 1-2dB higher than HT250;

Good casting and processing performance: better fluidity than cast steel, capable of casting complex structures; The difficulty of cutting is comparable to that of HT250, which can ensure the accuracy requirements of installation holes;

Corrosion resistance similar to HT250: rust prevention treatment is required in humid environments to avoid rusting.

Adaptation scenario

Replace HT250 for medium and heavy-duty impact conditions, such as mining vibrating feeders, small building material crushers, metallurgical roller conveyors, etc.

2、 Replace with ZG270-500 (carbon cast steel)

ZG270-500 is a commonly used carbon cast steel with much higher strength and toughness than cast iron, suitable for withstanding heavy loads and strong impact loads.

Core performance characteristics

High tensile strength: ≥ 500MPa, yield strength ≥ 270MPa, excellent impact and fatigue resistance, able to withstand short-term overload up to 30% of the rated value, and the machine base is not easily deformed or broken;

Extremely strong rigidity: high elastic modulus, able to maintain the coaxiality of the input/output shaft of the reducer for a long time, suitable for high-precision transmission scenarios;

Poor shock absorption: The damping coefficient of cast steel is much lower than that of cast iron, and the gear meshing vibration will be directly transmitted to the frame. The operating noise is 5-8 dB higher than that of HT250, and additional shock absorbers need to be installed;

The process is relatively complex: poor casting fluidity, easy to produce defects such as shrinkage and cracks, and strict control of the casting process is required; The machining difficulty is high, the tool wear is fast, and the manufacturing cost is 2-3 times that of HT250;

Poor corrosion resistance: Without the lubricating effect of graphite, the surface is prone to rusting and requires shot blasting, painting, or galvanizing for anti-corrosion treatment.

Adaptation scenario

Used for heavy-duty, strong impact, high-precision transmission conditions, such as auxiliary transmission of metallurgical rolling mills, heavy-duty conveyors, and walking mechanisms of port lifting equipment.
