What are the specific effects of humidity on the operation of ZQ650-31.5-5 gear reducer?

Humidity has a significant impact on the operation of ZQ650-31.5-5 gear reducers. In high humidity environments (relative humidity>80%), water vapor infiltration is the core cause of lubrication failure, metal corrosion, and decreased sealing performance. It can directly lead to gear wear, bearing jamming, oil emulsification, and other faults. In severe cases, it can cause equipment to shut down suddenly or shorten its service life by more than 50%. Based on the characteristics of this model commonly used in heavy-duty conditions, a specific analysis needs to be conducted from four dimensions: lubrication system, transmission components, sealing structure, and electrical accessories.

1、 Lubrication system: Oil emulsification and lubrication failure are the primary risks
In high humidity environments, water vapor enters the box through breathable caps and sealed gaps, mixes with lubricating oil, and triggers a series of chain reactions:

Emulsification and deterioration of lubricating oil: Moisture and gear oil form a milky white emulsion, which destroys the integrity of the oil film, causing gears and bearings to be in a boundary lubrication or even dry friction state, and the tooth surface is prone to pitting and peeling.

Hardening and clumping of lubricating grease: If the bearing is lubricated with grease, the invasion of water vapor will cause the lithium based lubricating grease to absorb water and harden, losing its lubrication and buffering effects, increasing frictional resistance during operation, and causing abnormal temperature rise.

Elevated oil acid value: Water reacts with additives to generate acidic substances, corroding the surfaces of gears and bearings, and accelerating the rusting of the inner walls of the gearbox. Rust particles further contaminate the oil, forming a vicious cycle of "wear pollution re wear".

2、 Transmission components: Corrosion leads to decreased load-bearing capacity and abnormal operation
ZQ650 is a medium to large cylindrical gear reducer, and its gears, shaft system, and bearings are prone to electrochemical corrosion in humid environments

Gear tooth surface corrosion: Uncoated parts such as tooth roots and shaft necks absorb water vapor and form red or black rust. During operation, the rust layer falls off, causing pitting and peeling, reducing the contact strength of the tooth surface, and reducing the bearing capacity by more than 30%.

Corrosion and jamming of bearings: After the GCr15 bearing steel raceway or steel ball is corroded, the rotational resistance increases, and there is a "rusting" abnormal noise. In severe cases, the retainer may break, causing the shaft system to jam.

Corrosion of shaft and key connections: After corrosion of input/output shafts, splines, and flat keys, the clearance between them increases, resulting in circumferential slippage or axial movement. When transmitting torque, it generates impact loads and even causes key breakage.

3、 Sealing and fastening structure: secondary failure caused by protection failure
Aging of seals and corrosion of fasteners are hidden hazards in high humidity environments:

Aging and failure of seals: Rubber oil seals and O-rings are prone to hardening and deformation in humid and hot environments, losing their sealing effect and leading to oil leakage or continuous invasion of moisture.

Corrosion and loosening of fasteners: After the anchor bolts and box joint surface bolts are corroded, they are not only difficult to disassemble, but also cause increased vibration of the gearbox due to loosening, amplifying coaxiality deviation and affecting gear meshing accuracy.

Joint surface leakage: After the sealing glue on the joint surface of the box fails, moisture and impurities invade, exacerbating internal pollution.
