Core advantages and precautions of WS250-37-II worm gear reducer
The core advantages and precautions of the structural design of WS250-37-II worm gear reducer are as follows:
1. Core advantages
Smooth transmission: The meshing between the worm spiral teeth and the worm gear teeth is a "line contact" (rather than the "point contact" of gear transmission), with a large contact area, strong load-bearing capacity, and low operating noise (usually below 75dB);
Compact structure: compared with gear reducer, the volume of worm gear reducer is smaller under the same transmission ratio (space staggered shaft transmission saves layout space);
Reverse self-locking: No additional brake installation is required to achieve load locking and improve equipment safety.

2. Precautions
High lubrication requirements: It is necessary to use "worm gear special lubricating oil" (usually L-CKC medium load industrial gear oil, viscosity grade 150 # or 220 #), and the oil level should cover the root of the worm gear teeth (to ensure sufficient lubrication of the meshing surface). If there is a lack of oil, it will cause rapid wear of the tooth surface;
Low efficiency: Due to the significant sliding friction on the meshing surface (when the worm gear teeth push the worm gear teeth, there is relative sliding on the tooth surface), the first stage transmission efficiency is about 70% -85%, and the second stage transmission efficiency is about 60% -75% (lower than the gear reducer), which is not suitable for high-speed and high-power transmission scenarios;
Heat dissipation requirement: Sliding friction will generate heat. If operating at full load for a long time, the temperature of the box should be checked (up to 90 ℃), and if necessary, heat sinks or cooling fans should be added.
