How to control the grease filling amount of WPDX100-50-B worm gear reducer

The lubricating grease of WPDX100-50-B worm gear reducer is only used for the bearing chamber of the input/output shaft bearing end cover. The meshing part of the worm gear is lubricated by gear oil, and it is strictly prohibited to add lubricating grease to the inner cavity of the worm gear box; The amount of lubricating grease added to the bearing chamber should be strictly controlled according to the proportion of the bearing chamber volume. Excessive or insufficient amount can cause the bearing to heat up, get stuck or even damaged. The specific control requirements and operating points are as follows:

1. Core filling amount standard: The lubricating grease filling amount for the single end bearing chamber is 1/2~2/3 of the effective volume of the bearing chamber. The bearings that are compatible with the 100 machine base of this model are mostly 6204/6205/6304 series, with a single end bearing chamber volume of about 15~25mL, corresponding to a single end filling of 8~17mL of lubricating grease (about 1/2~2/3 of the gap between the bearing and the end cap can be filled by pinching a small ball with fingertips); The total filling amount of the double end bearing chamber shall not exceed 35mL, and it is strictly prohibited to fill the bearing chamber completely.

2. Fine tuning requirements for different operating conditions

Normal operating conditions (ambient temperature 0~40 ℃, continuous and stable operation): Add 2/3 of the volume to ensure sufficient lubrication of the bearing rolling elements, and leave enough space for grease to dissipate heat and flow;

High temperature working conditions (ambient temperature>40 ℃, installed near a heat source): Add 1/2 of the volume to reduce the heat generated by mixing lubricating grease and avoid softening and loss of lubricating grease due to lack of heat dissipation space at high temperatures;

Low speed heavy load/frequent start stop conditions: Add 2/3 of the volume to improve the reliability of bearing lubrication and prevent dry friction of bearings under instantaneous loads;

Low temperature working conditions (ambient temperature<0 ℃): Add 2/3 of the volume and use low-temperature lubricating grease to ensure the fluidity of the grease at low temperatures and avoid insufficient lubrication.

3. Requirements for matching grease types: Use No. 2 lithium based grease (GB/T 7324), replace with No. 1 lithium based grease for low temperature conditions (-20~0 ℃), and replace with No. 3 lithium based grease for high temperature conditions (40~60 ℃). It is strictly prohibited to use calcium based or sodium based grease, and the grease must be a new, non deteriorated, and impurity free qualified product.

4. Key points for on-site refueling operation control

Before filling: Clean the grease nozzle and surrounding area of the bearing end cap to prevent dust and oil from entering the bearing chamber with the lubricating grease; If there is old grease in the bearing chamber, it is necessary to first unscrew the oil drain hole on the end cap (or remove the end cap), clean the old grease until it is clean, and then add new grease.

During filling: Slowly add grease through the grease nozzle until fresh lubricating grease slightly overflows from the gap of the bearing end cover (this state is the intuitive judgment standard for the 1/2~2/3 volume of the bearing chamber), to avoid excessive filling caused by continuous filling.

After filling: Rotate the output shaft of the reducer several times to evenly distribute the lubricating grease in the bearing chamber and eliminate local accumulation; Tighten the grease nozzle dust cap to prevent impurities from entering.
