What are the reasons for the abnormal increase in temperature of NGW-L21-4KW planetary reducer?
The abnormal temperature rise of NGW-L21-4KW planetary gearbox is usually related to lubrication, load, heat dissipation, or component status. The following are specific reasons and handling suggestions:
1、 Lubrication system issues
Abnormal oil level
Excessive oil level will increase the resistance of oil stirring, while insufficient oil level will prevent the formation of an oil film, resulting in direct friction and heat generation of gears and bearings.
Solution: Check the oil level after cooling down and adjust it to the middle position; High temperature conditions can be controlled near the lower limit.
Abnormal selection or status of oil products
Oil viscosity mismatch (such as using low viscosity oil for high temperature and heavy load) or oxidation deterioration after long-term use can reduce lubrication performance.
Processing: Replace the appropriate oil according to the working conditions (such as selecting ISO VG 220 for light load at room temperature and ISO VG 320 for heavy load at high temperature); If the oil emulsifies and turns black, thoroughly drain the old oil and flush the gearbox before refilling.
Improper addition of lubricating grease
Excessive filling or incorrect selection of grease lubricated bearings (such as using normal temperature grease for high-temperature conditions) can lead to increased friction.
Solution: Clean the old lubricating grease and add suitable lubricating grease according to 1/3~1/2 of the internal space of the bearing (choose polyurea based high-temperature grease for high temperature conditions).
2、 Load and installation deviation
Long term overloaded operation
The actual output torque exceeds the rated value, resulting in increased gear meshing stress and intensified frictional heat generation.
Solution: Reduce the operating load to within 80% of the rated load; Optimize process parameters to reduce frequent start stop and impact loads.
Excessive coaxiality deviation
The radial or axial runout of the input shaft, output shaft, and coupling exceeds the standard, resulting in gear meshing bias and uneven bearing force on the shaft.
Solution: Check and adjust the coaxiality to ensure that the anchor bolts are securely fastened.
3、 Cooling system failure
Insufficient cooling

When there is a confined space, poor ventilation, or high ambient temperature, the efficiency of natural convection heat dissipation decreases.
Solution: Improve the ventilation conditions around the equipment and avoid blocking the heat dissipation channels.
Dust accumulation affects heat dissipation
Dust on the surface of the reducer will hinder heat dissipation.
Solution: Regularly clean the surface of the reducer to maintain cleanliness.
