How to set the oil level alarm for KF57-25-3KW reducer

The oil level alarm setting scheme for KF57-25-3KW reducer is as follows:
1、 Definition of oil level safety threshold

Standard oil level: After cooling down to room temperature, the oil level should be level with the centerline of the oil level plug on the side of the reducer.

Alarm threshold: The low oil level alarm threshold is when the oil level is 10mm below the centerline; the high oil level alarm threshold is when the oil level is 5mm above the centerline.

Calibration prerequisite: Oil level detection and alarm threshold calibration should be carried out at room temperature during shutdown. During operation, oil agitation may cause a false high oil level, and error compensation should be reserved.

2、 Option 1: Mechanical oil level alarm (low-cost, easy to monitor)
(1) Core component selection

Float type oil level switch: The float material is selected as oil resistant nylon or stainless steel; Common specifications for installing threaded matching reducer oil inlet/oil level plug (M16 × 1.5, M20 × 1.5); Action stroke 10-15mm; contact type can be selected as normally closed/normally open.

Buzzer/Warning Light: Passive buzzer is selected, with voltage matching the on-site power supply (24V/220V), and suitable for small current contacts of mechanical switches.

(2) Installation and setup steps

Installation position determination: First remove the original oil level plug, screw the float switch into the hole, ensure that the float is suspended in the oil and does not interfere with moving parts such as gears and bearings; If the oil level plug hole is not compatible, a hole can be drilled in the ± 10mm range of the standard oil level centerline on the side of the gearbox. After welding the matching threaded joint, install the switch and seal it to prevent leakage.

Alarm threshold calibration: low oil level calibration - add lubricating oil to the standard oil level, slowly drain the oil until the oil level is 10mm below the centerline, adjust the float switch limit nut to trigger the buzzer/warning light alarm when the switch contact is activated; High oil level calibration - continue to add lubricating oil until the oil level is 5mm above the centerline, adjust the upper limit limit nut to trigger the alarm when the switch contact is activated.

Linkage setting (optional): Connect the normally closed contact of the float switch in series to the control circuit of the gearbox motor. When the oil level is below the threshold, the contact will disconnect and the motor will automatically stop.

(3) Advantages, disadvantages, and precautions

Advantages: Low cost, no need for complex electronic control; Easy installation and maintenance; Strong ability to resist electromagnetic interference.

Disadvantages: low precision, easy to be affected by oil foam; Unable to remotely monitor; Contact points are prone to oxidation.

Attention: Regularly clean the oil stains on the surface of the floating ball to avoid sticking; Calibrate the threshold every 3 months; Emulsification of oil will affect the buoyancy of the floating ball, and it is necessary to replace the lubricating oil in a timely manner.
