What abnormal vibrations can be caused by lubrication system failure of WPDKS175-50-7.5KW worm gear reducer

The lubrication system failure of WPDKS175-50-50-7.5KW worm gear reducer can cause three types of abnormal vibrations: mid low frequency irregular vibration, meshing impact vibration, and high-frequency friction vibration, often accompanied by temperature and noise synchronous abnormalities.
1. Irregular vibration at medium and low frequencies (insufficient lubrication/abnormal oil level)

When the lubricating oil level is too low or the oil supply is interrupted, the meshing surface of the worm gear lacks oil film protection, and dry or semi dry friction causes uneven meshing force, resulting in irregular vibrations at medium and low frequencies (20~200Hz).

The vibration amplitude gradually increases with running time, without a fixed frequency peak. Manually touching the middle (meshing area) of the casing can feel a "dull shaking", and the vibration intensifies more significantly when the load increases.

2. Mesh impact vibration (oil aging/model mismatch)

Lubricating oil aging and deterioration, viscosity decrease, or incorrect model selection (not matching ISO VG220-320 specification), insufficient oil film bearing capacity, unable to buffer the impact of worm gear meshing.

In the vibration spectrum, there are meshing frequencies (gear ratio x input speed) and harmonic peaks, and the peak dispersion is large, accompanied by "metal impact sound". The effective value of vibration velocity may exceed 4.5mm/s.

3. High frequency friction vibration (impurities in oil/failure of lubricating grease)

Mixing metal debris, dust, and other impurities into lubricating oil, or drying up of bearing grease, can cause local friction and impact on the bearing raceway and mating surface, leading to high-frequency (1-10kHz) vibration.

The effective value of vibration acceleration at the bearing seat measuring point significantly increases (normal ≤ 8m/s ², may exceed 15m/s ² in case of fault), and the vibration waveform contains dense impact pulses, often accompanied by abnormal temperature rise of the bearing (exceeding 80 ℃).
