How to prevent S77-72.22-2.2KW worm gear reducer from working at high temperatures

The core idea for preventing the S77-72.22-2.2KW worm gear reducer from working at high temperatures is to start from five dimensions: "controlling heat sources," "strengthening heat dissipation," "optimizing lubrication," "monitoring and warning," and "adapting to working conditions," in order to avoid lubrication failure, accelerated wear of parts, or structural deformation caused by the combination of high environmental temperatures and the reducer's own heating. The following are specific preventive measures that can be implemented, sorted by priority and operational difficulty:

1、 Basic prevention: Control the direct impact of "high temperature environment" on the gearbox
High temperature environment (such as outdoor in summer or near heat source equipment) is the primary external factor causing gearbox overheating, and it is necessary to start with "isolating environmental heat":

Stay away from fixed heat sources

If there are heat sources such as boilers, heating pipes, and high-power motors near the installation location of the reducer, the installation layout needs to be re planned to ensure that the distance between the two is ≥ 1.5 meters; If it cannot be moved, a thermal insulation baffle (such as galvanized steel plate or ceramic insulation board) should be installed between the heat source and the reducer to block heat radiation transfer.

Avoid direct sunlight

When installing outdoors, it is necessary to build a sunshade for the gearbox (materials can be color steel plate or canvas, pay attention to reserving ventilation openings), or wrap it with reflective insulation film (industrial grade aluminum foil insulation film, which can reduce surface temperature by 5-8 ℃), to prevent direct sunlight from causing an additional 10-15 ℃ increase in shell temperature.

Improve local ventilation

If the gearbox is located in a closed/semi closed space (such as a control cabinet or equipment room), an axial flow fan (air volume ≥ 100m ³/h, wind speed ≥ 1.5m/s) or ventilation louvers should be installed to ensure air circulation; If the space is small, a small exhaust fan can be installed to export hot air outdoors and maintain a space temperature of ≤ 40 ℃ (refer to the upper limit of the common rated ambient temperature of this type of reducer).

2、 Core measure: Strengthen the "self cooling" ability of the reducer
The S77 series 2.2KW worm gear reducer will generate its own temperature rise (about 40-60K temperature rise under rated load) due to meshing friction, and it is necessary to optimize the heat dissipation structure to accelerate heat dissipation:

Install forced cooling device

If the ambient temperature is greater than 40 ℃, priority should be given to equipping the reducer with a cooling fan (matching the motor speed, it is recommended to use a 220V/380V industrial fan with an air volume of ≥ 200m ³/h), and the fan should face the reducer's cooling ribs (S77 machine base usually comes with cooling ribs, ensuring that the fan direction is consistent with the direction of the ribs to accelerate air flow through the cooling surface);

If the temperature rise still exceeds the standard (such as shell temperature>70 ℃), it can be upgraded to a water-cooling sleeve (wrap a spiral water-cooling sleeve outside the gearbox casing, introduce ambient temperature circulating water, inlet water temperature ≤ 30 ℃, water flow rate ≥ 0.5m/s, can reduce the shell temperature by 15-25 ℃). It is necessary to pay attention to the tight fit between the water-cooling sleeve and the casing to avoid water leakage
