The common sealing structures and characteristics of ZQD850-317-28 reducer with soft tooth surface are as follows:

Sealing of shaft extension

Felt ring sealing: using a rectangular section felt ring embedded in a trapezoidal groove to exert a compressive effect on the shaft, thereby preventing lubricating oil leakage and external impurities, dust, etc. from entering the bearing chamber. The structure is simple and cost-effective, but it causes severe friction on the contact surface of the shaft neck. It is mainly used for grease lubrication and oil lubrication with low circumferential velocity of the shaft neck at the sealing point (generally not exceeding 4-5m/s).

Leather bowl seal: Utilizing the elasticity of the J-shaped sealing ring lip structure and the fastening force of the spiral spring coil, the lip part is tightly attached to the shaft surface to achieve sealing. Reliable work, good sealing performance, easy to install and replace, can be used for oil lubrication and grease lubrication, for the journal of precision turning, the circumferential speed v ≤ 10m/s; For polished shaft neck v ≤ 15m/s.

Gap type seal: The structure is simple, and there is generally no specific limit on the circumferential speed of the shaft neck, but the seal is not reliable enough. It is suitable for bearings with grease lubrication, oil lubrication, and clean working environment.

Centrifugal seal: Install an oil slinger or create a groove on the shaft, and use centrifugal force to deflect the oil that is intended to flow outward radially back. Often used in conjunction with gap seals, it is only suitable for oil lubrication with a circumferential velocity v ≥ 5m/s.

Maze seal: It uses the winding and narrow gaps formed between the rotating and fixed components, as well as the grease filled in the gaps, to achieve sealing. Effective for both oil lubrication and grease lubrication, suitable for high speeds, but with a complex structure.

Sealing of other parts

Sealing of the joint surface between the box cover and the box seat: Usually, sealant is applied to the joint surface between the box cover and the box seat, and a return oil groove is also opened on the joint surface of the box seat to allow the oil that seeps into the joint surface to flow back to the oil pool inside the box through the return oil groove and return oil passage, in order to increase the sealing effect.

Bearing end cover sealing: A sealing gasket needs to be added between the screw type bearing end cover and the housing, and an O-ring rubber seal is commonly used to seal and prevent leakage between the embedded bearing end cover and the housing.
