What are the solutions to the DCY250-80-IN gear tooth surface pitting fault

The DCY250-80-IN gear reducer has a tooth surface pitting fault. The core solution is to classify the treatment according to the degree of pitting, and systematically repair and prevent it by combining material properties, lubrication status, and working condition optimization. Pitting corrosion can damage the accuracy of tooth profile, cause vibration noise, and in severe cases, can lead to tooth surface peeling or even tooth breakage, which must be dealt with in a timely manner.

1、 Classify and treat according to the severity of pitting corrosion

1. Slight pitting corrosion (area<10% of tooth surface, depth<0.1mm)

Cleaning and polishing: Use fine sandpaper with a grit of 800 or more to lightly polish the edges of pitting pits, remove burrs, and prevent scratching of teeth during meshing;

Replace lubricating oil: Thoroughly clean the oil tank and oil passage, replace industrial gear oil that meets viscosity grade (such as L-CKD 320) and extreme pressure performance requirements, and check whether the filter screen is clogged;

Adjust operating conditions: Reduce the load to below 80% of the rated value in the short term, avoid impact loads, and continuously observe the operating status.

2. Moderate pitting corrosion (area 10% -30%, depth 0.1-0.3mm)

Performance testing: Check the contact spots through tooth thickness measurement, tooth pitch deviation detection, and coloring method to determine whether the transmission accuracy meets the standard;

Partial repair or replacement: If it is made of forged steel material, argon arc welding can be used to fill the pits, and then the tooth shape can be restored through gear grinding processing; But if the pitting corrosion is concentrated on the driving wheel or high stress area, it is recommended to replace the gear directly and check whether the mating teeth are worn.

3. Severe pitting corrosion (area>30%, depth>0.3mm, or existing cracks or peeling)

Complete replacement of gear pairs: Due to a severe decrease in load-bearing capacity, local repairs cannot guarantee safety. Paired gears must be replaced to avoid secondary damage caused by mismatched meshing;

Check related components: synchronously check whether the bearings are worn and whether the housing is deformed, ensure that the gear axis is aligned, and prevent the recurrence of faults.
