How to determine if the SCWU280-63 worm gear reducer is installed correctly

To determine whether the SCWU280-63 worm gear reducer is installed correctly, it is necessary to start from two aspects: static inspection and dynamic trial operation, and verify whether the installation accuracy, connection reliability, and operational stability meet the requirements.
1、 Static inspection: Verification of installation accuracy and connection reliability
Static inspection should be completed before power on operation, with a focus on confirming whether the basic parameters after installation meet the standards, which is a prerequisite for judging the correct installation.
1. Basic and horizontal inspection

Use a level with an accuracy of 0.1mm/m to tightly adhere to the upper plane, input shaft flange surface, and output shaft flange surface of the gearbox housing, and measure the levelness error. Require a levelness of ≤ 0.1mm/m to avoid uneven stress on the internal gears caused by the tilting of the base.

Check whether the anchor bolts are tightened in a symmetrical order, use a torque wrench to tighten them again, confirm that the bolts are not loose, the base is tightly attached to the installation surface, and there are no obvious gaps (can be checked with a feeler gauge, the gap is ≤ 0.05mm).

2. Re check the coaxiality of the shaft system

Measure the coaxiality again using a dial gauge for the connection between the motor shaft and the input shaft of the reducer (usually a coupling). The radial deviation should be ≤ 0.05mm, and the axial deviation should be ≤ 0.1mm, consistent with the standards during installation, to prevent displacement caused by stress after bolt tightening.

If the output shaft of the reducer is connected to the working machine, the coaxiality between the output shaft and the input shaft of the working machine should also be checked, and the deviation should be consistent with the input shaft to avoid uneven load at the output end.

3. Component connection and sealing inspection

Check whether all flange connections (such as motors and reducers, reducers and working machines) have complete bolts, correct tightening sequence, and no obvious misalignment (uniform flange clearance, maximum clearance difference ≤ 0.1mm).

Check whether the lubricating oil circuit and sealing components (such as input/output shaft oil seals and box joint surfaces) are intact and free of oil leakage marks; The type and amount of lubricating oil added (usually medium load industrial gear oil) should meet the requirements of the gearbox manual, and the oil level should be at 2/3 of the oil level mark.

Manually rotate the input shaft of the gearbox (or drive it through the motor shaft), and the rotation should be flexible, smooth, without any jamming, abnormal noise or obvious resistance, indicating that the internal gears and bearings are not jammed and there is no misalignment during installation.
