How to clean the oil tank of FAF77DV132M4-NA154-7.5KW reducer

The cleaning of the oil tank of FAF77DV132M4-NA154-7.5KW reducer should follow the process of "thorough emptying → disassembly and cleaning → flushing and impurity removal → drying inspection". The core is to remove old oil residue, sludge, and metal debris to avoid contaminating new oil. Before operation, it is necessary to ensure that the equipment is shut down and the power is cut off, and the temperature of the fuel tank is reduced to ambient temperature (to prevent hot oil splashing).
1、 Preparation work: Clarify tools and safety precautions
Before cleaning, tools and materials should be prepared in advance, and safety precautions should be taken to avoid operational errors or safety hazards.

List of Tools and Materials

Tools: wrench (used to remove fuel tank cap and drain plug), oil drum (to collect old oil, marked as "waste oil"), soft bristle brush (made of nylon material to avoid scratching the inner wall of the fuel tank), high-pressure air gun (to dry the fuel tank, pressure ≤ 0.4MPa), cloth (pure cotton cloth without fiber shedding), special cleaning agent (or recommended new oil of the same model in the gearbox manual for flushing).

Protective equipment: Oil resistant gloves, goggles, non slip shoes. If using cleaning agents, wear a mask (to avoid inhaling volatile gases).

Safety precautions

It is strictly prohibited to disassemble the fuel tank at high temperatures (temperature should be ≤ 40 ℃) to prevent burns from hot oil.

Waste oil needs to be collected centrally and handed over to professional institutions for processing. Random discharge is prohibited (in compliance with environmental protection requirements).

The disassembled bolts and gaskets should be stored separately (it is recommended to classify and pack them in sealed bags) to avoid loss or confusion.

2、 Core cleaning steps: Thoroughly remove impurities in 4 steps
Step 1: Thoroughly drain the old oil and residual impurities

Find the oil drain plug at the bottom of the reducer, place an oil bucket below, slowly unscrew the plug (pay attention to leaving a pressure relief gap to avoid oil spraying), and let the old oil drain naturally. This process takes about 10-20 minutes (depending on the tank capacity).

After draining the old oil, use a high-pressure air gun to blow air inward from the top of the fuel tank through the filling port (pressure adjusted to 0.2-0.3MPa), for 1-2 minutes, to blow up the metal debris, sludge and other impurities deposited at the bottom of the fuel tank, and discharge them with the residual oil.

If there is a filter screen at the oil outlet (some models are equipped with it), the filter screen needs to be disassembled, washed clean with cleaning agent or new oil, and checked for damage to the filter screen (if it is damaged, it needs to be replaced), and then reinstalled later.

Step 2: Disassemble the fuel tank cap and internal components (if detachable)

Unscrew the fixing bolts on the top of the fuel tank, remove the fuel tank cover, and check whether the sealing gasket (O-ring or asbestos gasket) on the inside of the cover is aging or deformed (if necessary, replace it with a new sealing component to prevent oil leakage in the future).

If there are oil level gauges, oil suction filters, and other components inside the fuel tank, they should be disassembled according to the instructions. Use a soft bristled brush dipped in cleaning agent (or new oil) to gently brush the surface of the components with oil sludge, and then dry them with a clean cloth to avoid residual impurities.
